I Planned a Wedding For Bachelor Pilot Peter

If you do not know who “Pilot Peter” is, you probably not a reality TV lover and you are probably are very free on Monday nights. Peter, who also happens to be a pilot (yay for alliteration!) is the new star of the hit TV show “The Bachelor” and is on his journey to find love and find someone who is: there for the right reasons/ vulnerable/ walls down/ enter all other bachelor lingo here. As you know, the whole purpose of this whole show is to fall in love, get engaged, and eventually.. you guessed it, GET MARRIED!

So why would I plan a wedding for Pilot Peter? No, I am not hoping he one day sees this and hires me to be his planner (although that would be awesome, think about all the IG followers), but I wanted to show you how to incorporate personal details into your wedding design to make your wedding uniquely yours.. or in this case uniquely Peter’s!

Holiday Luncheon for the Cook Children's Women's Board

We were honored to help plan the Cook Children’s Women’s Board Holiday Luncheon for the 2019 year! With the help of an amazing vendor team and an incredible vision of the client, we transformed her backyard into a Christmas Wonderland, filled with festive linens, garland, and tons of yummy treats! We chose pom pom linen overlays from La Tavola to bring out the whimsical side of the Holidays. A real live reindeer greeted guests as they arrived, and specialty cocktails served in a Christmas Ornament were waiting for guests as they entered the door! The Dallas String Quartet played a medley of festive holiday music while guests mingled and enjoyed the delicious food from Bonnell’s and desserts from Treat Me Sweet. Each guest left with some cheery holiday favors which included mulling spice mason jars and Christmas candles! We had so much fun bringing the Christmas Spirit to this amazing group of women!

Proposal Story: Sam + Brent

“Brent and I always say that the two best things about California are the mountains and the beach. When we went to my hometown of Los Angeles for a quick weekend trip, I didn't think anything of it when Brent suggested we take our pup Rosie to a lookout spot we had been to multiple times and then to get drinks at the beach afterwards. I had brunch with my girlfriends that morning so I was already dressed up (good planning on his part!!). We drove to the top of the mountain where the small hike to the lookout started...”

Proposal Story: Calyn + Rick

“During our many travels over the past four and a half years, Calyn and I have shared many special moments together. From wintery NYC skylines, Hill Country sunsets, and Napa Valley cabs, Calyn was likely on the other side of many proposal ‘pump-fakes’ than I’d like to admit. With the proposal now in our rearview mirror, we’ve laughed (and cried) over some of these various moments throughout our relationship. ..”

Proposal Story: Morgan + Robert

“Rob and I love traveling together, and we recently went on a trip to Portugal and Spain. On one of our first nights in Porto, Portugal, Rob told me that he had made dinner reservations for us, but other than that, the details were pretty vague. Our reservation wasn't until 8:00, but he was set on leaving to walk towards the restaurant by 6:00 that night, so I had some suspicions ;) As we were approaching the general area of where the restaurant was, there was a spot near the water that we had previously said would be a beautiful spot to take a picture. Rob then suggested that we stop and take a picture at that spot. It "just so happens" that the guy Rob asked to take our picture was carrying two professional cameras, so I started to get even more suspicious of what was going on. The guy took a few photos of us on Rob's phone and before I knew it, Rob turned to me and started talking about the last 5 years we had spent together and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I said YES!! We spent the night celebrating at a special dinner with the two of us, followed by many late night FaceTime calls with family and friends back home. I'm so thankful that Rob coordinated with a photographer in Porto to capture this moment. We now have these amazing photos that we'll always cherish and remember this special day by.”

The Pros and Cons of an "Unplugged" Wedding

We have all seen it happen, the wedding guest that leans over into the aisle way as the door opens and the bride makes her way to her new husband… all the while, completely ruining the shot for the photographer, you know, the one that the couple professionally hired to take pictures. More and more couples are opting for an ‘unplugged’ ceremony- where guests are asked to turn off their cell phones and refrain from taking any pictures. Through my 2 years of wedding planning, I would say about half of my brides choose to do an unplugged ceremony, while half choose to let guests be. Here are what I have learned are the pros and cons of having an unplugged ceremony!
