Positano Italy Elopement- Katy + Matt
Katy and Matt had their intimate elopement among the cliffside of the picturesque town of Positano! Although the wedding was hosted at the gorgeous Villa Magia in Positano, Katy and Matt opted for a more secluded and romantic hotel in Conca di Marini - Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel. The Amalfi Coast is filled with many tiny towns, all with their own unique feel- so don’t be afraid to step outside of Positano and explore the other cities if you feel like escaping the beach going crowds!
The wedding day started with Katy and Matt taking a private car from Conca di Marini over to Villa Magia, only about a 45 minute car ride with stunning scenic views. The transportation was easily arranged through their hotel, making for a stress free ride for the bride and groom! Once they arrived in Positano, they got set up in their hotel room to begin hair and makeup. After a short period in the glam chair, it was time for Katy to get dressed and do their first look! Although they got ready together, we had Matt step out on to the patio when it was time for Katy to put her dress on so that we could capture the moment Matt saw Katy in her dress for the first time!
The couple stood side by side for their first look out on the patio of their hotel room, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. They also chose to gift each other letters they had written for one another in lieu of writing their own vows for the ceremony! This sweet intimate moment was followed by a few more portraits and a short walk hand in hand to the main patio of the hotel where the couple exchanged traditional wedding vows with a local wedding officiant. Under the shaded pergola and a backdrop of buildings and boats, Katy and Matt said their I Do’s!
After the sweet ceremony, the couple enjoyed a cannoli tower in place of a wedding cake, and washed down the sweet treats with some champagne! They soaked in the gorgeous views of the ocean below, before taking a few more portraits around this picturesque hotel.
A sunset boat cruise was originally planned for the Katy and Matt immediately following the ceremony, but unfortunately due to rough water conditions, the boat tour was cancelled. So instead of a boat tour, we took Katy and Matt down for a sweet walk through the stairways and streets of Positano, stopping along to the way to snap pictures, and down to the beach. Because Positano is nesteld on a cliffside, the walk down involved a lot of staircases and steps, so we definitely recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes if you plan on walking through the town! After a quick wardrobe change, Katy and Matt ended their wedding day taking pictures on one of the most iconic beaches in the world- Spiaggia Grande Positano- with black sand and brightly colored buildings as their backdrop! They kicked off their shoes and splashed in the water while enjoying the gorgeous views. After the beach, Katy and Matt made their way over to dinner with at Restaurant Don Giovanni - which they chose for the beautiful Ocean views and amazing Italian Cuisine. They decided to have a private dinner without the photographer so that they could soak up that special moment- just the two of them. I had made arrangements for their private car to pick them up at the restaurant and return them to their hotel in Conca Di Marini for the night- a perfect ending to a perfect day!
