2025 Wedding Trend Forecast: 7 New Trends and 3 Disappearing Trends
Anyone planning a wedding knows that trends in the wedding industry are always rapidly changing and evolving! And now with the popularity of tik tok, intsagram, and pinterest, as it relates to the wedding world, trends are being shared even faster! Here are 7 new trends I predict we will see more of in 2025, 3 trends that will remain popular, and 3 trends that will be disappearing:
NEW TRENDS IN 2025
Dramatic draping:
One trend that seemed to emerge during the 2nd half of 2024 was dramatic draping incorporated into wedding designs! This will definitely carry over to 2025 as we will see more couples incorporate this romantic and dramatic display into their wedding days. Whether its draping the table cloths, or creating masterful backdrops for the ceremony, expect to see a lot of draping for 2025!

Restaurant Aesthetic:
Recently, we have seen a rise in the restaurant aesthetic being implemented into wedding design! More couples are requesting an elevated and chic restaurant atmosphere for their guests- one that creates an intimate and inviting vibe. This aesthetic is very heavily influenced by the Ralph Lauren Polo style of interiors/clothing and can help make a wedding guest feel like they are in an upscale swanky restaurant instead of a wedding banquet hall! Some elements that can help you achieve this look are: leather menus, lamps or taper candles on the tables, and incorporating other elements you would find in any fancy restaurant- custom matchbooks, mood lighting, servers in matching uniform, polished silver, elevated bar fronts, etc!

Elevated getting ready outfits:
For years, the default getting ready outfit for brides has always been a pajama set or a silk robe. As style continues to evolve, we will see more and more bridal parties elevating their getting ready looks: going for more day time looks, and even veering away from all white! The trademarks of a getting ready outfit will remain the same: loose, comfortable, and easy to take off without messing up your glam- however, we can say goodbye to the pajama sets and say hello to these chic elevated outfits!

Non Floral Ceremony Backdrops:
A new trend that we will see popularized in 2025 is the use of “non floral” ceremony backdrops! This trend is definitely for the more artistic or non traditional bride, but it makes such a chic statement! Florals have been the go to ceremony backdrop for decades, and although flowers will never go out of style, I am excited to see couples opt for alternative backdrops!

Live Experiences:
2025 will come with an emphasis on live and interactive experiences at weddings! Some of the popular ones I have noticed are interactive food displays during cocktail hour- whether that be a live oyster shucker, or someone creating a personalized cannoli just for you! When it comes to music, live unexpected performances are becoming more popularized! Some examples I have seen are having a live singer sing the bridal party down the aisle for the ceremony or adding a saxophone on top of the DJs set for an electric energy!

Non Traditional Engagement Rings:
Although this is not really a “wedding” trend, I couldn’t resist showcasing the new style that is taking over engagement rings! Couples are starting to stray from the traditional solitaire diamond on a plain band and are creating more masterful works of art for their engagement rings! I love it all- everything from the toi et moi settings to the chunky bands!

Funky Florals
There are a few different trends happening with florals that we will see gain popularity in 2025! One of the more fun trends we are seeing is this idea of “inside out” florals, or rather, putting flowers on everything except where you would expect them to go! For example, leaving a chuppah or arch completely bare, but covering the surrounding ground with floral; or leaving a table setting empty, but showcase beautiful floral in new innovative ways! Here are some of my favorite examples:

The “It girl” flower of the moment
In addition to the “inside out” floral trend I mentioned above, the other popular trend we are seeing when it comes to wedding florals is incorporating a lot of green hydrangeas and Amaranthus! White hydrangeas have always been a popular flower in the wedding industry, so it is fun to see green hydrangeas have their moment!
TRENDS THAT ARE STAYING FOR 2025:
Hand Drawn Stationery:
A trend that has taken the wedding industry by storm in the last 1-2 years is hand drawn wedding invitations. I think this trend will stick around for at least another 2-3 years, with everyone putting their own artistic and individual spins on the trend! Some of the trademarks of the 2024 styles were: watercolor, funky/ elongated cursive fonts, and LOTS of scalloped edges! As we move into 2025, we can expect a higher emphasis on illustrations and personalizations! Here are some styles that were popular in 2024, and some that we expect to see in 2025!

Portrait Photography:
Another trend that was gaining popularity in 2024, that will remain for 2025 is Portrait Photography, or just a more classic style of portraits. For the past few years, we have seen couples opt for the more artistic styles- whether that be grainy photos that mimic film, or only doing documentary style where there are no formal portraits at all. However, I think the pendulum will swing back into the direction of formal portrait photography, where you have the classic head-on bride and groom shots! Here are some of my favorite examples:

Western Chic:
In 2024, we saw the "Western Chic” aesthetic being implemented all throughout the wedding industry! We probably have Yellowstone to thank for this aesthetic gaining such popularity- from rehearsal dinners to wedding days! 2024 brought custom cowboy hat bars to the forefront as well! We can expect to see more couples grab their cowboy hats and boots and embrace the western chic aesthetic in 2025!

DISAPPEARING TRENDS IN 2024:
Modern Minimalism
Babies breath and long stem white roses made a huge comeback over the last few years, and I think we may be saying goodbye to it in 2025. We are starting to see more colors and personal touches be introduced back into wedding design- and although this aesthetic was beautiful for its time, it has just been done a few too many times for me! I am excited to see couples reinvent the all white wedding in a new way in 2025!

Ceremony Arches:
It is not that ceremony arches are going out of style- I just think we are going to be seeing less of them in 2025 as more creative ceremony backdrops are gaining popularity!

Pet illustrations/inclusions:
We know that couples love to incorporate their pets into their special day- and I can see why! However, these inclusions have been around for a while now and need a little bit of an upgrade! In years past, we have seen pet illustrations on bar signs, cocktail napkins, stick stirs, on cakes, you name it. These illustrations are usually an artists’ exact recreations of the client’s pets. I think this specific style of illustration is going to lose popularity moving into 2025:

However, I know that the love couple’s have for their pets will never go out of style! So if you are still looking to incorporate your pet into your wedding plans, I recommend going for a more subtle or artistic approach! I love when the illustrations are not an exact recreation of the pet, but rather an artistic and elevated nod!
